The Ark at Cross of Christ was founded and licensed as a daycare in 1993. We do business as an Early Learning Center because early childhood education is an art, a practice, and a discipline. Our mission states that we are commissioned by Christ to care for children in His name.
Youth ministry was provided by Pastor Dave for 10 years until his retirement in 2025. Assistant Director Emily Jones, on staff since 2016, has been ministering on a supplemental basis. Guest Pastor Nyla Schoeld has stepped into this role while Cross of Christ’s congregation is in transition.
We were led by Director Jan Galbraith for 24 years. Solange Silva was previously the Pre-Kindergarten teacher and took on The Ark Director mantle in 2017.
We are governed by a standing committee with members from our families, providers and congregation. It meets the first Wednesday of every month over the Zoom platform. This committee reports to the Cross of Christ Board of Directors.
We believe in the potential of every child and strive to provide a loving, stimulating environment to nourish their self-worth and self-control.
